Ashley graduated cum laude and with honors from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in communication sciences and disorders in 2003. She went on to earn a Master of Science in communication disorders in 2004 from the University of Texas at Dallas. Ashley holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed by the state of Texas in speech-language pathology.

At UTD, Ashley received specialized training in early childhood intervention through a grant sponsored by the US Department of Education. She combines her knowledge and experience with various forms of interventions including DIR Floor Time, Kaufman Protocol for Childhood Apraxia of Speech (K-SLP), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), sensory processing, and traditional speech-language therapy when working with children.

In addition, Ashley has been trained in PROMPT, an innovative therapy technique used to help patients form sounds and words through direct and indirect manipulation of the speech structures (e.g., lips, tongue, jaw). The PROMPT method is a well-regarded treatment technique particularly for children who have apraxia of speech.  Ashley has demonstrated the necessary level of skill and experience to be listed in the SLP Directory for the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America (CASANA).

Ashley believes in the importance of a positive and fun therapy environment centered around each individual’s needs. She enjoys working with young children and their families to provide personalized therapy to achieve their communication goals.  Ashley will work closely with you and your child to evaluate, diagnose, and formulate individualized therapy for each child.
